The Stubbs Early Education Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive family education within a welcoming, secure, and valued environment for both children and adults. Catering to children in Preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten, the center creates a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere that promotes learning and community building. The Dual Generation Center at Stubbs offers an array of services including parent education/support groups, adult education/GED classes, social services, employment/job training, housing assistance, financial literacy, and more.

School Principal Spotlight

Whitney Williams Ed.D.

Dr. Whitney Williams is the proud Principal of the Stubbs Early Education Center, Dual Generation Center in Wilmington, DE, and Supervisor of the Parents as Teachers program for New Castle County. Described as a servant and transformational leader with over 30 years of experience in the areas of Early Childhood, public K-12, post-secondary, and parenting education. Dr. Williams has spent the last five years cultivating the vision of care, connection, and collaboration to support the academic, social, emotional, health, and wellness outcomes of the children and families at Stubbs.

Dr. Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Temple University, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Cheyney University, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University.

Her commitment to ensuring a welcoming environment, and school, family, and community partnerships earned her the 2022 Women Leading Delaware Education award and a recent nomination for the American Association of School Administrators Women in Leadership award.

Her areas of expertise include fostering positive organizational culture, developing effective community engagement and partnerships, and employing a two-generational approach that supports families overcoming generational poverty and societal disparities.

The establishment of the WLC, and the collective contributions of its leaders and partners inspire Dr. Williams. Contributing and growing with the remarkable WLC school leaders is invigorating and brings renewed energy and hope. The WLC has given us the opportunity to create innovative initiatives that are not only transactional but will be generationally impactful and positively transformative.
